The Schell Cafe Cookbook {kristinschell.com}

by Kristin 13 Comments

Two BIG announcements for you today, friends!

I have a gift for you—The Schell Cafe Cookbook. Next week, you’ll have the opportunity to get my first e-book FREE. I sent the final copy off last week, and I might even have a sneak peek of the book cover for you by the end of this week. The Schell Cafe Cookbook will be available in two formats: as a pdf document you can print, and as a traditional e-book for purchase on Amazon.com.

Here’s the official blurb:

After nearly a decade of sharing recipes on her blog
Kristin offers a collection of reader favorites in her first cookbook.
Featuring over thirty recipes,
The Schell Cafe Cookbook offers an eclectic mix of delicious and easy to prepare family meals.

The Schell Cafe Cookbook is a HUGE thank you gift to YOU for being such faithful friends here at The Cafe. I’m giving the printable version of the e-book to subscribers of the blog for  free, kind of like a party favor. Which brings me to my next announcement.

Don’t worry The Schell Cafe isn’t closing, it’s just moving to new digs. After 7 years of blogging at The Schell Cafe and 3 years at The Kitchen Mission, it’s time to combine and expand. The new website www.kristinschell.com will launch early next week, we are aiming for Tuesday, September 18th.

Some of the exciting features you’ll find at kristinschell.com:

  • The Cafe – this will be the most familiar section where I’ll continue to share recipes and muse about what’s cooking. Wait until you see the new recipe printing function! Technology amazes me and the newest recipe plug-in-thingamajig features serving sizes, cooking times, photos, and nutritional information—if I can figure that last part out.
  • The Mission – when I started writing The Kitchen Mission three years ago, I felt like it should be a separate blog. But, it’s time to move things under one roof, so to speak. At The Mission, I am writing a weekly story that will post on Wednesdays following the lessons from Genesis: Tell Me the Story at Lamplighters Bible Study. I’m also excited to be writing a monthly guest post for the YMCA of the Rockies blog. You’ll hear more about our family adventures at the “Y” in Estes Park, Colorado beginning with my first post next week.
  • On the Fly – My newest addiction passion in life is fly fishing. Husband is thrilled (at least he says he is!) to have a new fly fishing buddy and we’ve had quite the summer checking out fishy waters in Colorado and Wyoming. As most fishermen and women will tell you, it’s not about catching the fish, but the experience of fishing. I believe this to be mostly true, and will share life lessons I’ve learned on the river.
  • Weaving Words – in this section I’ll try my hand at writing short stories and fiction, which truthfully makes me nervous. I will also focus on the process of writing for those of you who may have aspiring writer tendencies. I’m going to two Writer’s Conferences in the next 3 weeks, so maybe the path will become more clear. If not there may be crickets in this part of the site for a while.

So, there you have it. There’s not a recipe today, but here’s a photo from The Schell Cafe Cookbook that I hope whets your appetite.

I want to thank each of you for being part of this special community at The Cafe. Your comments, tweets, emails, phone calls, and actual visits to my kitchen mean more to me than you will ever know. I hope you’ll continue to hang around beginning next week at kristinschell.com.

I’ll send out a link to the new site as soon as it’s live, and information about how to get your free, printable copy of The Schell Cafe Cookbook.

Much love and thanks,

Kristin
